Oil Change Service Video
Engine oil carries heat away from moving parts and keeps metal surfaces separated by a thin protective film. The oil filter traps the grit and combustion byproducts that would otherwise circulate through the bearings and valvetrain.
This video walks through what fresh oil looks like compared to oil at the end of its service life. It also shows where the drain plug and filter sit on a typical engine. During normal operation, the pump pulls oil from the pan and pushes it through the filter. From there it feeds every bearing surface before draining back down.
Oil breaks down gradually, then faster once the additive package is spent. You might notice a darker, grittier dipstick reading, a faint burnt smell at idle, or an oil life indicator counting toward zero. That can show up well before the sticker on the windshield says you are due.
An oil service drains the old oil, replaces the filter, and refills with the grade specified for your engine. It also includes a multi-point look at belts, hoses, and fluid levels. When you are ready to book the actual work, our oil change service covers the full process and current pricing.
Short trips around Moses Lake and Ephrata never let the oil reach full operating temperature. Moisture and fuel vapor stay suspended in the oil and accelerate additive breakdown.
